Journey with me as I travel the trails and take pictures of nature and points of interest along the way.

This is Ridgeway, the town where I live and from where most of my journeys on the trails start from.

   This is the main business shopping area of Ridgeway, but there are other areas as well. There's lots of novelty, gift and antique shops starting to do business here now and it looks like it will be another tourist area soon. Lots of new homes being built in the area also.

   From this location, you can either head East to Greater Fort Erie and Buffalo or West to Port Colborne and the Welland Canal.

   We'll have a look at the area map first and then go off to Fort Erie and then come back to this location later.

Before the Friendship Trail came into existance, it was the roadbed of the CNR tracks between Fort Erie and Port Colborne. Here is a cement sign post that would have been used to signal the train engineer to whisle for an upcoming road crossing.
